the y design awards: celebrating creativity & originality through technology

The Y Design Awards was launched in 2006 as part of the London Design Festival to recognise and celebrate the UK's leading creative talent demonstrated through the use of digital technology.

The YDA is different to other awards schemes in the digital design industry with most rewarding the senior management of the design agency, or the business itself. The YDA however goes straight to the very heart of winning project by recognising the individual designers and technicians that bring the concept to life on the web. Without their key contribution, their agency campaigns would never exist, let alone win awards.

Last year's Y Design Awards were immensely popular with over 420 submissions from 112 UK's leading agencies. We also had submissions from outside the UK which we couldn't allow but his illustrated the growth in awareness of the event.

The Y Design Awards 2008 invites submissions in all categories up until 15th August 2008, after which time a panel of five expert judges will select the winner for each category. The winners of each category will then be revealed at an exclusive awards party in London on 17th September 2008.

There is a small administration entry fee of £50 per agency and you can entry as many different submissions in as many relevant categories as you see fit. See ëEntry Details' page for more specific information.

The Y Design Awards are sponsored by Carrenza, a specialist managed hosting provider for the design industry and Kirin Beer. The scheme is also supported by the London Design Festival and media partner dynamo london.
